The Cleveland Indians saw a lot of production in their game last night from Jason Kipnis the Indians second baseman who has struggled at the plate at times this season. The Indians didn’t see that struggling last night as they down the Royals 8-5. Kipnis produced 3 R.B.I.’s in the game and the Indians got a good start from their pitcher David Huff who picked up his third win. Huff pitched for 6 innings, he gave up 8 hits and 3 runs, Huff struck out 5 and didn’t walk anyone.
This kind of performance is just what the Indians needed to help their interim manager Sandy Alomar Jr. pick up his first major league win as a manager. Alomar only has 5 games left to run the club that has played terrible baseball since the second half started. The Indians will begin the search for their new manager and many are hoping Sandy Alomar Jr. can get the job. The Indians know the fans have a great deal of respect for Alomar who has ties to some of the best Indians teams in the 90′s.
Cleveland has 5 games left in the season and winning them is just a matter of pride at this point. Cleveland are deadlocked with the Twins for last place in the A.L. Central with a record of 66-91….
