The Cleveland Indians couldn’t get the sweep against the New York Mets. The Tribes offense could only put one run on the board in yesterdays game. Daisuke Matsuzaka (Dice K) did a good job of holding the Indians to one run in the 5-2/3′s innings he pitched.
The Indians started Danny Salazar and he did a great job of holding the Mets to only one run in the 4 innings he pitched. I know what you are thinking, if both starting pitchers did such a great job holding the opposition to only one run then how did the Indians lose the game.
The Tribes Bull-Pen gave up a 9th inning run to the Mets. Yes it was the Indians closer who came into the game and gave up the run to take the loss. He isn’t having his best season. The Indians gave up the late inning run and they couldn’t get another run to push the game into extra innings.
The Indians fell back to two games back in the wild card and they did take advantage of a Detroit loss and are now once again fighting to get ahead in the wild card game. The Indians only run came off a batter being hit by a pitch.
Asdrubal Cabrera was hit by a pitch in the 6th inning and it forced in a run. That is the only offense the team had when it came for scoring runs.
