Browns training camp starts in just 5 days. With the start of camp the Browns will see the return of a healthy Montario Hardesty for the second year in a row. Hardesty is said to be more Mentally and physically ready than ever before.
There is a reason that Hardesty is felling good. He is in great shape and he could be the guy to carry the load for the Cleveland Browns if Trent Richardson continues to be bothered by injury. This is what Hardesty has been waiting for since coming to the NFL.
Hardesty was bothered by injury in the past and when he had his knee tore up in preseason it took him a couple of years to get back to the Hardesty the Browns drafted. The problem with Hardesty’s rehab was the players were on lock out and he couldn’t get the treatment he needed.
That led to another bothersome leg injury that hampered his season in 2011. Now that he is healthy and has a chance to contribute to the Browns offense, he is ready. Montario out rushed T-Rich per carry last season.
Hardesty had an average of 4.2 yards per carry to T-Rich’s 3.6 yards per carry. Hardesty has the ability to hit the hole quickly and if he can get into the open field he is capable of making people miss him.
It the Browns have to start Hardesty at running back this season, he could prove that he is the guy that can help the team win. One thing Hardesty has been working on this off-season was holding onto the football and catching the ball out of the backfield.
If Hardesty can do a better job this season at holding the ball, he could be a threat the Browns need coming out of the back-field. It is going to be interesting to see a healthy Montario Hardesty for the second year in a row.
