If you had any doubt about Cardale Jones playing quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, you have to be convinced now. Jones played exceptionally well in the Big Ten Championship game. He threw for 257 yard and 3 touchdowns.
He led the Ohio State Buckeyes past the Wisconsin Badgers, by a score of 59-0. The 6 foot 5, 250 Lbs, sophomore, didn't have to rely on his legs to get the job done, he was able to do most of his work with his arm.
I never had a doubt in his ability, for two reasons. First, he was a product of Glenville High School, in Cleveland, Ohio. Ted Ginn Sr., and the Glenville High School football program has a long history of producing great player for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Many of them, go on to have outstanding careers in the NFL.
The second reason I was so confident in the abilities of Jones, is Urban Meyers. He does a fantastic job in having he quarterbacks ready for competition. We saw that when Braxton Miller went down earlier this season.
Jones is going to have a great career at Ohio State. If he stays healthy he could be on pace to set all the records held by a Buckeyes quarterback. His only problem may be getting enough playing time once the other quarterbacks are back to being healthy.
Urban Meyer certainly has a problem, many football coaches, wish they had. He has too many talented quarterbacks. Gee, what a nice problem to have.
Congratulations to Cardale Jones, on his outstanding performance in the Big Ten Championship game.
