The Cleveland Cavaliers have to concern themselves with trying to limit the points scored by the L.A. Lakers 15 year veteran Kobe Bryant. This guy has been on fire scoring 26 then 48 and 40 points over his last three games. Sure Kobe Bryant’s wrist is sore and he has to receive injections in order to play but the way Bryant is scoring as of late everyone in the NBA probably wants whatever it is they are injecting into Bryant’s wrist.
The Cavaliers trainers would do the team a great service if they could get to the Lakers training room and remove whatever substance they are using on Bryant. But seriously this young Cleveland team has got to find a way to pick up their defense when it comes to stopping Bryant. If the Cavaliers expect to keep the game in reach, then they need to stay aggressive. When the Cavaliers have been aggressive they have won games.
The Cavs did a great job last night controlling the tempo of the game against the Suns, lets face it tonight’s match up is by far the toughest one this young Cleveland team has face so far this season. There just aren’t that many Kobe Bryant’s running around the NBA.
Tristan Thompson should be getting more minutes tonight from Scott if he expects the Cavs to defend Bryant. Thompson seemed excited when asked about playing the Lakers before the Cavs departed for this road trip. If Thompson can defend Bryant successfully, think what a boost of confidence it would be for the Cavs rookie. We shall soon see if this Cleveland Cavaliers team can hang with the big boys.
