The Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert held a press conference. Heckert was asked if the Browns were set at the quarterback position for the Cleveland Browns and he responded saying he was happy with the guys they had. Asked if the Browns planned on making any more moves at that position, Heckert responded saying in this business you learn to never say never, he went on to say the Browns are happy with he guys they have.

Tom Heckert and Pat Shurmur both are surprised at the improvement Colt McCoy has shown coming into the Browns training camp. Both guys think given the chance McCoy has what it takes to get the Cleveland Browns some wins. Both Heckert and Shurmur know if Weeden goes down McCoy could become the Cleveland starter in the blink of an eye. The Browns have seen it happen before and with the Browns offensive line still needing to improve there is a real possibility Brandon Weeden could get hurt.

When Heckert was asked what he thought about this years Cleveland Browns, he said “I like the teams defense”. Heckert knows the Browns may have some play makers on offense this season, but he went on to say they still need to prove themselves in the regular season. He left us wondering if he has real doubts about the teams offense. Like Heckert, we will see what this Browns offense can do in a week from now.

I wouldn’t put all the blame on the offense. I would say 50 percent goes on the coaches and their play calling.
