Terry Francona took his Indians to the place he won a world series in. He took the Tribe to the famous Fenway Park in Boston and he received a very warm welcome back by all the Red Sox fans. The Indians then proceeded to show the good people in the city of Boston, how good Francona has them playing this season.
The Indians dominated the welcome back party they threw for Terry Francona last night. The Tribe pitching held the Red Sox to 7 hits and 3 runs. Zach McAllister got the start for Cleveland and he pitched 5 innings, allowing the 3 runs the Red Sox scored on 5 hits.
The Indians offense had McAllister’s back in this one, they started scoring in the 2nd inning and didn’t quit until they put a dozen runs in the board. Stubbs got the scoring started in the 2nd, he had a good night going 3 for 5.
The real damage was done by the Indians in the 6th inning when it seemed like every Indians batter was able to add to the Indians offensive attack. The Tribe put 6 runs on the board in the 6th. Mark Reynolds singled to left center, that drove in Asdrubal Cabrera , moved Michael Brantley to third, and Carlos Santana to second. The Indians would continue to add to their assault on Fenway Park.
The red-hot Yan Gomes doubled to left driving in Brantley and Santana, Reynolds advanced to third base. Drew Stubbs then tripled to deep center driving in Reynolds and Gomes. Then Bourn singled to right to finish clearing the bases in front of him with Stubbs scoring.
It was a pretty good trip back to Bean Town for the Red Sox former manager Terry Francona I would say. It was the first time in his career as a manager that he was hoping the Red Sox would lose.
