Columbus Ohio: the Columbus Crew found out first hand, how dangerous the weather can be at an outdoor event. Apparently a fan was stuck by lightning, while getting ready to attend the Crew's game against FC Dallas last night.

Lt. Thad Turano told the AP, the Columbus fire department transported a male to the Ohio State medical center in full cardiac arrest, the victim was reportedly stuck by lightning according to Lt. Turano.

The Crew originally said the game was called because of  "reasons beyond our control". They later issued another statement saying; the game was postponed due to an "incident surrounding the inclement weather."

Crew owner Anthony Precourt issued this statement on Twitter;

"To all -- we are sincerely sorry about tonight's postponement, but your safety is of the utmost importance," "We'll share more info as we can, but a member of our community was severely injured by the weather. Praying for him."

The game was scheduled to take place at 8:00PM last night. About 15 minutes before kick off, a storm with heavy rain and lightning bursts rolled through. Fans were told to exit the stands and seek cover in the concourses of the double-decked stadium.

It is unfortunate, this lightening strike took place,  our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim as well as his family.
