The Ohio State Buckeyes are now the National Champions. They were carried to the Championship by Sophomore Ezekiel Elliott, who ran all over the Oregon Ducks. Elliott had 246 yards rushing, on 36 carries. He was the work horse the Ducks could stop.
Urban Meyer and the Ohio State offense played a smart game. They handed the ball to Elliott, and he did the rest. He had a long run of 33 yards, and he scored 4 touchdowns in the game. The great news is he will be back in a Buckeyes uniform next season.
Ohio State is lucky to have this play-maker on their team. Elliott almost doubled the total rushing yards of the Ducks, and he almost single-handedly carried the Buckeyes to the National Championship. He out performed expectations in this game.
He is going to be a star, if he stays healthy. His 4 touchdowns, helped the Buckeyes down the Ducks by a score of 42-20. No one thought the Buckeyes would make it look this easy. It's clear the Buckeyes are one of the best teams in all of College Football.
Meyer came into the game with his game plan, and he stuck to it. The Ducks could stop Elliott, and the long down field passes thrown by Cardale Jones helped to set up the run. It was a great plan of attack, and that's why Meyer is considered one of the greatest college coaches of all time.
Congratulations to the Ohio State Buckeyes and Urban Meyer on another great season.
