Manny Acta Indians Get Swept By TwinsThe Cleveland Indians, yes this same team that beat the Detroit Tigers two out of three games and took down the Mighty Justin Verlander, were just swept in Minnesota. What’s wrong with this picture folks? The Cleveland Indians gave up 28 runs to the Minnesota Twins, yes this same twins team that was in last place in the AL central. The Indians offense did very little to win any of the three games played in Minnesota. Today Shelley Duncan was the only Cleveland Indian to have an RBI.

Tribe lead-off batter Sin-Soo Choo you went over for today, Asdrubal Cabrera went one for four today and Carlos Santana the same Santana to get the seventh inning rally going to beat Detroit in the series finale went 0 for 3. Yes folks, when we’re talking Indians baseball and Shelley Duncan is the only Tribe batsman to drive in an RBI there is a serious problem with the Cleveland Indians. Indians pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez got to start today, for the first three innings it looked like Ubaldo was going to be the Jimenez Manny Acta and the Cleveland fans were looking for.

In the fourth inning of the wheels started to fall off Ubaldo Jimenez. Justin Morneau hit 2 blasted drove and Josh Willingham just like that the Minnesota Twins took the lead over the Indians 2-1. In the fifth inning it would be a wild pitch by Ubaldo Jimenez that would give the Minnesota Twins a 3 to 1 lead over the Cleveland Indians. The Cleveland Indians could see their hopes of getting a win in the twin city slowly slipping away.

The final two runs would come off Indians pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez in the seventh inning. The Minnesota Twins would go ahead to win that the third game of the series and get the sweep over the Cleveland Indians. Two add to the Indians misery the Cleveland Indians can’t escort any more runs today Lou Marson when hit-less, Casey Kotchman went hit-less and the Cleveland Indians sought any hope of gaining on the Detroit Tigers or the Chicago White Sox fade away.

With two days lost the Cleveland Indians are now the full six games back in the AL central behind the Chicago White Sox, and two full games back in third place behind the Detroit Tigers. The Indians are now two games below .500 at 50 and 52.  Doesn’t appear at this time that the Indians front office are going to make any moves before the trade deadline. It’s almost like the front office of the Cleveland Indians is using wishful thinking that this team can get into the playoffs with the people already in place. At the present time it looks like the fans in Cleveland can count  out post season play once again before their Cleveland Indians.

If the Indians ownership and the tribes front office thinks this team can make a move towards post season play they must be dreaming. The entire second half of this season after the All-Star break has been a bust for the Indians. How manager Manny Acta is supposed to get this to turnaround with the people he presently has is anyone’s guess. It’s sad to say but and less actor can get this and missing offense back out onto the field its not going to happen again this year.

It’s sad to see this happen to the Cleveland Indians especially when there are guys like Vinnie Pestano Chris Perez who are truly professionals on the field .All the Cleveland Indians needed to do this season was to get the lead going into the eighth inning in Vinnie Pestano and Chris Perez would bring the fans in Cleveland a win. That makes this pill that much harder to swallow.
