Desmond Bryant has quickly become a household name in Cleveland. He has helped the Browns shut down the run this season and he can get to the quarterback too. This is exactly why the Cleveland Browns signed the big man to a five year deal.
During Thursday nights game against the Bills, Bryant was taken to the Cleveland Clinic in an ambulance. He couldn’t catch his breath and the team was very concerned. Bryant was kept over night for observation and it was determined he was suffering from an irregular heartbeat.
This is the second time in Bryant’s NFL career that he was rushed to the hospital. It happened to him last season when he was playing for the Raiders. The Browns said that Bryant is expected to play in their October 13th game against the Detroit Lions.
He was released from the hospital Friday morning and his heart beat settled down. The Cleveland fans as well as the Browns are hopeful Bryant doesn’t suffer a recurrence of this problem in the future.
He is one of the forces of the Browns front 7 and the Cleveland defense is better when he is in the game. Not only can the team use him to stop the run, he brings a lot of pressure to the opposing quarterback and the Browns need him to stay healthy.
Cleveland signed Bryant to a five year deal in the off-season and he is everything the team hoped he would be. Lets hope Bryant has the heart for the game and this irregular heartbeat is something they can get a handle on.
