When you look at it on paper you would think the Cleveland Cavaliers were going to be blown out of the game last night against the San Antonio Spurs, in reality, Cleveland hung in the game very well. One point is all it came down to, the margin of victory for the spurs was one point. The Spurs beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-95 last night. The Cavs needed just one more basket to get their 17th win and they couldn’t do it.
You could argue that Kyrie Irving had a terrible night and you would be right. The young man played 32 minutes in the game and scored only 6 points. The Spurs had Irvings number and you have to wonder if the kid lost his focus again. Irving usually scores more than 6 points in a game. Just one more basket from Kyrie is all we needed to see the Cavs beat the Spurs. It didn’t happen.
You have to be somewhat inspired the way Cleveland has played the tougher NBA teams this season. They beat the Thunder and hung in there with the Spurs last night. It won’t be that much longer before the Cavaliers are able to win more then they lose. But right now they have to find a way to bring the fire we saw in the Thunder game each time they take to the floor.
That is what the Cavs are missing, they have a problem bringing the level of intensity we saw in the Thunder game each night.
