colt mccoy proves he can winColt McCoy has been questioned by certain media in the Cleveland area as to whether or not he is the guy to lead the Cleveland Browns at the quarterback position. Today McCoy”s performance should silence some of the Cleveland media. McCoy can stand in there with the best of them. This kid is as tough as they come as far as N.F.L. quarterbacks go.

Colt McCoy was knocked around pretty good by Jacksonville’s defense today in Cleveland and McCoy still stood in there and was able to deliver some passes with pin point accuracy.  There was one point when McCoy looked shaken-ed up, some thought he would be out of the game as the Browns medical personnel tended to what looked like McCoy’s right shoulder. When the Browns got the ball back McCoy was up and ready to get back in the game.

Cleveland has had a tough year with injuries to some key players. With the loss of a great offensive lineman before the season even started the Browns offensive line was left questionable. McCoy has never once complained about the lack of protection and has always represented the Cleveland Browns in nothing less than a professional manner even as his abilities came into question.

Colt McCoy leads by example, something others could use a lesson in. This kid is a winner and has been winning football games his entire life. If the Browns give McCoy the weapons he needs, McCoy will provide the arm to get the job done. Two weeks in a row now we have seen Colt McCoy complete passes that ended up gains for over fifty yards. Today McCoy even put himself in harms way on more than one occasion.

The Browns won today because of the solid efforts their young quarterback put forward this afternoon. Give McCoy time and he is the kind of guy that can take the Cleveland Browns places they haven’t been in a long, long time.

All 10 of the Browns’ longest plays in Sunday’s 14-10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Cleveland Browns Stadium went for at least 11 yards. McCoy passed for seven of those big plays, scrambled for another and completed 17 of 24 attempts for 199 yards with a touchdown. McCoy thinks the Browns are just starting to do things right. Imagine what can happen if the Browns continue doing things right…

LG is correct. Colt McCoy is a winner. Any team that has him is better off because of it. Give him some protection, give him some receivers and watch him (them) win. Football is a TEAM sport. One player alone can not do it. Congratulations to the Browns on their win.
