The Cleveland Indians are about to kick spring training into high gear, and manager Terry Francona is preparing his players to have a special 2014 season. Francona said; the Indians are never going to give up.
He doesn’t expect anyone to hand his Indians wins, he fully expects this team to earn them in 2014. He loves Cleveland and can’t wait to get his second season as the Indians manager under way.
Francona loves that he is living and working in Cleveland. This is a special place for him and he recalls the days of his father playing for the Cleveland Indians.
Francona not only issues instructions to his players about playing the game of baseball, he also is teaching them about the responsibility that goes along with wearing the Indians uniform.
Francona said coming to Cleveland to manage the Indians was the perfect job for him and he loves it. How many people are that passionate about their job?
The Indians are lucky to have a guy with this type of fight in his heart. Francona knows how to win and he did a fantastic job in his rookie season as the Indians manager and he took the team on a late season winning streak that gave these guys a taste of post season play.
Francona hopes his Indians can get the chance to extend their post season appearance this season.
