Justin Masterson took to the mound last night to try to bring a halt to the Cleveland Indians losing streak. Masterson pitched well for 3 innings after giving up a run in the first inning. Indians D.H. Carlos Santana tried to help his pitcher find a win, he hit a home run showing he could still find some power that scored 3 runs in the 4th.

The Indians took a 3-1 lead that would be short lived. Masterson had a rocky 5th inning. He gave up a double to Erick Aybar of the Angels, and just like that the game was tied. The Indians couldn’t find anymore bats, and the game would be decided in the 8th inning when the Angels scored 3 more runs, to take a 6-3 lead over the Cleveland Indians.

Masterson pitched for 7-1/3 innings, giving up 7 hits and 6 runs. 5 of those runs were earned. Masterson is not having his best season so far. He has a E.R.A. of 4.84 and a 0-1 record thus far.

The Indians line-up isn’t getting the job done offensively on this west coast trip.

Cleveland only had 5 hits in the game and even Michael Brantley was shut out in last nights contest. The Indians now fall to 11-15 on the season and are 3-1/2 games back in the A.L. Central. Somehow the bats need to get going.

The Indians came into this season knowing they needed to take care of unfinished business, but so far have had a hard time doing so.
