The Cleveland Browns newest free agent signing Andrew Hawkins, said he can’t wait to play with Josh Gordon. Hawkins went on to say, Gordon is a premier wide receiver in the NFL, and last season he took the league by storm.
Hawkins is also looking forward to returning to the city his football career started. Even though he didn’t make the Browns in 2008, he feels his time is now.
He thinks his addition to the team will help Cleveland, get back to being a championship caliber football team. The Browns have struggled since returning to the NFL in 1999.
Hawkins feels that putting him on the same field as Gordon, on the same team will greatly enhance the Cleveland Browns offense.
Hawkins is a speedy smaller receiver, who is capable of making some great catches, and much like Gordon, he is a serious threat at picking up yardage after the catch.
The Browns receiver group needed another sure handed receiver. Hawkins gives the team that. He will be lining up as a slot receiver and with his size, he could be easily lost in the crowd.
Hawkins is only 5 foot 7 inches tall, and he is very fast. If he breaks away from the defenders, he is going to be a hard guy to catch. It should be interesting to see what Hawkins brings to the Browns.
Now we have the NFL draft to look forward to, and if the Browns take another potential big play making receiver, the Browns offense could be unstoppable.
Tell me one Cleveland fan who wouldn’t want to see a Cleveland Browns offense like that……
