The Cleveland Browns called Auston English up from the Browns practice squad after placing Marcus Benard on the non-football injury list and said he wouldn’t be back this season. All English’s childhood dreams are about to come true this Sunday as the Browns take on the Oakland Raiders. English knows this is his chance to prove he is worthy of the chance to play in the NFL.
The Raiders will play their first home game since the passing of legendary owner, Al Davis, who died at age 82 last Saturday, when asked about this English said; “I’m sure it’s going to be a tough place to play,” English said. “Anytime you have to go to another stadium, their fans are going to be ramped up. There is a little added emotion with the past circumstances over the last week. We’re going to be ready to play. We just have to be able to play Browns football, focus on ourselves, make sure we have our assignments ready and just go out and execute.”
I thought English looked pretty good at times in the pre-season. I think this young man is going to go out there Sunday and have the game of his life. I hope he does….
