You would be hard pressed to find a finer example of a gentleman in all of sports. Ohio’s own Wilkins Santiago leads by example and has dedicated his life to pursue a championship belt in the ring. Santiago is headlining the Roy Jones Jr. Event that is taking place at the Mountaineer Casino in West Virgina July 13, 2013.

Santiago who has trained for this day for years, is finally coming into his own in the world of boxing. Santiago with a record of 9-0 is finally getting the chance to show case his talents in a main event. Some may remember Santiago traveling to Vegas a short time ago to help another Ohio native Shawn Porter get ready for his fight on May 18th in Atlantic city.

Roy Jones Jr. took an instant liking of the skills Santiago posses in the ring. Not only does Santiago carry himself well in the ring, he continues to do so outside the rings as well. Santiago is one of the hardest working guys in Boxing today. He is an inspiration to everyone in the Cleveland, Ohio area.

Through hard work and staying dedicated to his training schedule, Wilkins has demonstrated that he could achieve his goals. Headlining the event on July 13th is something Santiago dreamed about. The dreams of Santiago are starting to come true.  When he climbs in the ring to go after his 10th professional win, he can only hope the boxing world takes notice and gives him a chance for a title fight.

Santiago is happy to be alive and living his dreams. Here is a post off of his facebook timeline to show you that Wilkins has his priorities right;

Just wanna thank God for giving me the beauty to awake to another beautiful day of life! For blessing me with the strength, knowledge and wisdom to overcome all things that try to knock me off my square. But more importantly, for keeping me sane and focused on me first and foremost, and helping me build myself to my fullest potential! Last but not least, keeping me, my family and kids and those i know in the best of health n spirit! Thank you Jesus, you are My True Champ!!!

If Santiago continues walking down the path he is on, he will get a title shot soon. We wish this guy the best of luck and will pray that God continues to pour down  blessings on his life.
