The last thing Cavaliers fans wanted to see was Kyrie Irving going down with an injury that will keep him out for 4 weeks with a broken index finger. The fans thought here we go again, the Cavaliers season could go down in flames without last years N.B.A. Rookie of the year in the line-up for a month. The fans got a pleasant surprise last night when Irving’s replacement Jeremy Pargo started in Kyrie’s place and helped lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a win over the Philadelphia 76ers with his 28 points and 5 rebounds with 4 assists. Pargo could be the real deal, the Cavaliers liked the way this kid stepped up huge in Irving’s absence.
Cavaliers super star Anderson Varejao said “Pargo showed us he could play”. Play he did, he elevated his game to Irving’s level. Pargo showed the Cleveland fans that he could do it and just maybe the Cleveland Cavaliers could win some basketball games without the teams second year star player. Pargo helped the Cavaliers end their losing streak and Cleveland is hoping with Pargo’s help they can continue to play winning basketball. It’s great the Cavaliers have a guy that could step in and take the spot of Kyrie Irving and give the team and the fans the same kind of results that a Kyrie Irving produces. It is not easy for the fans to watch Irving standing on the side-line, having a Jeremy Pargo who can step in and produce the way he did certainly helped to ease the pain of losing a Kyrie Irving. Lets hope his production can continue to help the Cleveland Cavaliers win in the N.B.A…..
