Santana caught looking with bases loaded

Carlos Santana

The Cleveland Indians were mounting a comeback last night when they sent their natural born hitter to the plate in a situation most would live for. The bases were loaded there were two outs and the Indians were down one run at the time. Santana looked at all the pitches to be called out on strikes. Then came game over Cleveland lost to Kansas City 5-4.  The Tribe is still tied for first place at 12-5 and they battle the Royals again tonight. The Indians called Gomez up from triple A Columbus before last nights game to fill the vacant spot left by injured Mitch Talbot.

Gomez in his season debut did not make it out of the fifth inning, his mistakes on the mound helped the Royals to out duel the Indians last night.  Meanwhile the Royals Bruce Chen had an outstanding performance against the Indians offense who took to long to figure Chen out. By the time they did the Royals already had a commanding lead over the Indians. One thing is or sure if Santana had it to do all over again I am sure he would swing the bat.

Another certainty is, Baseball is a very long season and you can’t win them all. Tonight the Tribe may be able to redeem themselves after last nights loss.
