Carlos Carrasco continues to prove to the Cleveland Indians, he is worth his weight in gold. The Tribe started one of their most important series last night. They started the series against the Kansas City Royals. Carrasco got the start, and he was as dominant as they come, as far as pitchers go.
He worked 7 innings, and he only allowed one run. He struck out 8 and only walked 2. There was a time when people were wondering if Carrasco should be taking up a spot on a major league rooster. Those days are gone, and the Indians have themselves a good pitcher in Carrasco.
This series against the Royals will prove a lot about how good this Indians team is. We all seen the struggle, early on this season, but the Indians have appeared to snap out of it. Winning a 1-run game is huge for this Cleveland team.
The Indians were able to get on the score board in the with a Brandon Moss home run. The Tribe was trailing 1-0 before that HR. The Indians got their 2nd run, which proved to be the game winner off a Michael Brantley single to center that allowed Jason Kipnis to score.
Kipnis went hit-less in the game last night. He was able to get on base because of a fielder's choice, and then he was in scoring position after stealing 2nd base. He is continues to be a big reason the Indians are winning games.
The Indians are now only 1-game below .500 and they take on the Royals again tonight. The Indians starting rotation is really doing a great job as of late. Tonight it will be Cory Kluber taking the mound for the Indians.
Kluber struggled with the Royals a month ago, but this time I think Kansas City may struggle with Kluber who has now found the form that helped him win the Cy Young last season.
