Trent Richardson the Browns number one pick who is suffering a painful rib cage injury was still on the Browns practice field in Berea yesterday. This is just another case of a rookie being mis-managed by head coach Pat Shurmur. The Browns head coach knows better than to risk a player's health, he is not using common sense. The Browns witnessed Richardson only rush for 8 yards on 8 carries against the Colts last Sunday, after the game Richardson said the injury he suffered is far worse than anyone knows.
Pat Shurmur should be taking control of the situation and forcing T-Rich to rest. Rushing for only 8 yards on 8 carries is not going to help the Cleveland Browns win football games. Now that the rest of the world knows about the rookie's problems they will be targeting his ribs when he carries the football. How using a guy that is far less than 100% is going to help the situation in Cleveland is anyone's guess. Rookies want to play at any cost, it is up to the people running the team to do what is best for the team in the long run.
Using a guy with the type of injury Richardson has isn't good for him or the Cleveland Browns future. The only way an injury like this is going to heal is through rest. A good coach would step in and take control of this situation. If only the Cleveland Browns had a good coach.....
