A suit has been filed in a federal court in Illinois naming not only Pilot Flying J, the Wisconsin trucking firm has officially named the owner of the Cleveland Browns Jimmy Haslam III in the suit.

The class class action suit, is going after Jimmy Haslam and his company and some of the high ranking officers. The NFL isn’t going to like one of its owners being charged with racketeering. Sooner or later, the NFL is going to have to step in and release Jimmy Haslam from his duties with the Cleveland Browns.

This is the first to name Haslam as a defendant, more have to be coming. Also named in the suit are Pilot’s president and top sales executives, whose names appeared in a 120-page affidavit filed in U.S. District Court last week in Knoxville.

The complaint that was filed exists of 36 pages. lawyers for Edis trucking inc. charged that Haslam and other top Pilot executives executives conspired to reduce rebates that had been promised to Edis and other trucking companies.

Haslam, the suit charges, engaged in or caused Flying J to participate in a scheme to defraud class members by false promises. I think this will be one of many naming the owner of the Cleveland Browns. Something has got to give soon.

The NFL isn’t going to like their shield getting tarnished with all this going on.
