The Cleveland Browns took a tremendous beating in their win over the Detroit Lions last night. Barkevous Mingo the team’s first overall pick in the draft, left the game with what was reported as a rib injury.

Later he was transported to the Cleveland Clinic hospital at the main campus. Mingo was admitted and he spent the night in the hospital with what is now being reported as a lung injury. It isn’t clear exactly what the extent of his lung injury is.

Hopefully his rib injury didn’t puncture his lung. Mingo is a guy that could help the Browns defense get to the quarterback. There were concerns about his weight coming into the NFL. The Detroit Lions were a very physical team and Mingo is one of five Cleveland Players that were forced to leave the game with injuries.

Mingo could have been kept over night in the hospital as a precaution. If his ling did suffer injury due to his rib, Mingo could be missing for a number of weeks while his ribs and his lung heal. Officially it is being reported that Mingo suffered a bruised lung.

In order to bruise a lung, you would think your rib cage had to get shifted. Mingo’s transition to the NFL isn’t going as smooth as he had hoped and for the Browns, this has to be a big hit watching their number one getting injured.

But as we all know injuries are a part of the game. Lets just hope Mingo can heal quickly.
