The fans of the Cleveland Browns are anxiously awaiting head coach Rob Chudzinki's 10:50A.M. press conference. Some think he will name the starting quarterback going into the Kansas City game. No matter if it is Brandon Weeden or Jason Campbell, do we really think one of those two guys will be successful against this Chiefs defense.
Kansas City is a sacking machine this season. Their defense is going to give whoever the Browns start a very difficult time. They bring pressure and they bring it like no other NFL team this season. If the coach names Campbell the starter, can we really evaluate his performance based on whatever takes place in the game Sunday?
Campbell hasn't had any work this season at all. He hasn't worked with the first team and fans are expecting this guy to come in off the bench with a couple of days of practice and compete against what looks like the toughest defense in the NFL this season.
That isn't being very realistic. If the Browns stand a chance to win this game Chudzinski and his staff are going to have to come up with a plan B and they better do it fast. The Browns return to practice today after taking a day off Tuesday. If I were running this team I would have asked them to practice yesterday.
There in dire need of a better offensive performance and taking days off aren't going to help the cause. But this is the modern-day NFL. Take some time off and don't worry about getting better and you still get paid millions to suck. What a gig....
