The good news is Barkevious Mingo has been cleared to play, the bad news is Rob Chudzinski doesn't know what role if any Mingo will play in the Baltimore game. Mingo is listed as the back up to Jabaal Sheard.
It gives the Browns the option to rotate another pass rusher in and out of the defense. If Mingo can help the Browns get to the QB, the team should use him all they can, the Browns need to bring a lot of pressure in Baltimore to keep Flacco and his offense off-balance.
Cleveland's defense looks much improved in the pass rush this season and they are able to stop the run. The problem the defense has this season, is stopping the pass. Mingo should be able to help the Browns defense to stop the quarterback from throwing too many passes if he can get pressure in him.
Mingo suffered a scary injury, a bruised lung that had him hospitalized for 2 days. You have to wonder if he suffered a serious rib injury that caused the lung problem. If we go back to last season, we didn't hear about the rib problem with T-Rich for weeks.
If Mingo has a problem with his ribs, the team may want to use him in limited action to make sure he doesn't get knock out of the game. Hopefully the team has fitted Mingo with some protective gear to help if he takes a shot to the ribs.
We going to see Sunday what role if any Mingo will play with the Browns defense. It is too bad Mingo can't help the Browns offensive line.
