The Cleveland Indians had to sit around and wait for the rains to stop falling in Kansas City before they could play the game last night. The Tribe would send Scott Kazmir to the mound for the start against the Royals.

Kazmir pitched for 5 inning and he held the Royals to only one run for the first 5 innings. The damage came in the 6th inning, the Royals would score 4 runs in the inning and they did it off Indians relief pitcher Bryan Shaw and starter Kazmire who was charged with 3 earned runs last night.

The Indians offense never got going until the 6th inning. KC starter Jeremy Guthrie did a great job holding the Tribe scoreless through 5 inning and the Indians struggled until the 6th trying to make something happen.

The Tribe would score 3 in the 6th, The runs came off one of the most exciting plays in all of baseball. Jason Kipnis hit an inside the park home-run to drive in Bourn and Cabrera. Kipnis is on fire and it is fitting that he is the guy who put the Indians on the board first in an offensive struggle.

The Tribe scored 2 more runs in the 7th when Bourn singled to center to drive in Raburn and Cabrera hit sacrifice fly to center to drive in Gomes. Each time the Indians took the lead the Kansas City Royals would come right back and take the lead away from Cleveland.

The Indians fell from first place in the A.L. Central and they trail by only 1/2 game. They have one more game left with the Royals to decide the series before returning home to take on the Tigers in a 4 game series.
