The Cleveland Indians continued to take their games into extra innings. This time the result was in the Tribes favor. They beat the Chicago White Sox 2-1 in 10 innings. The Indians are still in the battle folks. If you have already written this season off, you may want to reconsider.
The Indians are 6 games back in the AL Central and only 4-1/2 behind in the wild-card race. The Tribe is 5 games about .500 and have 23 games left to play this season. Remember how they finished last season.
The Indians could very easily find another wild-card play-off spot this season. The schedule is working in Cleveland's favor, and you just never know with this team.
It would have been nice to see Cleveland split the series with the Tigers, but it didn't happen. What's nice to see is the team hasn't thrown in the towel on this season.
They are playing very competitive baseball. They are in every game until something God awful happens. Now with the schedule being what it is for the Indians, I am expecting a lot more wins than losses.
Last nights win came off of a David Murphy single to center field, Murphy came into the game to pinch hit for Roberto Perez. It was a great move on the part of Terry Francona who knows how to win games in the month of September.
Lets see if the Indians can take this series from the White Sox.
