The Cleveland Indian returned home to try to extend what they started in Texas, they were on a 2 game win streak and wanted to make it 3 in a row headed in the right direction. The Indians would send their ace Justin Masterson to the mound to start against the Washington Nationals in what would turn into a pitching duel.

Mastserson had a great game, he would hold the Nationals to just 1 run while he was striking out 10. He only walked 4 and allowed just 2 hits and 1 run. Mastserson didn’t get the decision but he was the guy who made it possible for the Indians to stay in this game and get their 3rd win in a row.

The Tribes offense didn’t light it up but they did what they had to do to get this win. The Indians would be trialing when Ryan Raburn hit a home run in the 4th to tie things up at 1.

The game would stay tied into the bottom of the ninth, that is when the Tribe made their move to claim yet another one run game. Cleveland has to be right near the top in winning one run games this season.

Jason Kipnis would come to the plate in the 9th and hit into a fielder’s choice that would drive in Stubbs to get the win, extend the winning streak and get back to ,500 on the season.

The Indians are still 4-1/2 back in the A.L. Central and they have 8 more home games in this current home stand. Today is Jason Kipnis replica jersey give away. Get yourself a ticket and get down to progressive field to support the Indians…
